Practical Business Writing Workshop: Increase participants’ knowledge to write effectively and use practical management reports by providing them with the right tools. Participants will be challenged to 1) increase staff coordination effectiveness through vertical and horizontal coordination within the organization’s leadership structure; 2) use BLUF—bottom line upfront to get to the heart of the matter and generate positive response; 3) adhere to KISS—Keep It Simple, Stupid! to promote clarity and consistency; 4) measure their ability to win the hearts and minds of their audience by using words built in motivation, persuasion, sensitivity, credibility and integrity; 5) adopt best practices in structuring documents; and 6) design intervention reports that address specific unmet needs with actionable recommendations.

Challenges participants to: 1) Increase staff coordination effectiveness through vertical and horizontal coordination within the organization’s leadership structure; 2) Use BLUF—bottom line upfront to get to the heart of the matter and generate positive response; 3) Adhere to KISS!—Keep It Simple, Stupid! to promote clarity and consistency; 4) Stimulate their ability to win the hearts and minds of their audience by using words built in motivation, persuasion, sensitivity, humility, credibility, cultural acuity and integrity; 5) Adopt best practices in structuring documents; and 6) Design and implement intervention reports that address specific unmet needs with actionable recommendations.
Prerequisite: Management/supervisory staff familiar with basic computer software skills and executive fundamental writing.
Diversity Training Workshop: The course equips employees to effectively deal with people’s biases based on race, ethnicity, disability, cultural affiliation, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, social and economic status, and political ideology. It shows how these attributes contribute to discrimination and oppression. The course outlines promote and shape candid and professional discussions through focus groups, experiential scenarios, vignettes, role-playing supplemented by hands-on exercises and simulations. This approach optimizes learning objectives and adds reality to the given scenarios. The desired end result is to harmonize diversity and broaden the workforce’s diversity.
Ethics Training Workshop: This course sharpens employees’ ethics awareness through a series of lectures, candid discussions, socialization of relevant issues, vignettes, ethics scenario event list, ethics explosion, role playing, showing videos, live ethics exercises and simulations. It provides tools to employees to effectively deal with societies and businesses interaction through consumerism, ethical and moral convictions, and use of technologies in a controlled environment. It prepares them to deal with today’s major business ethical issues that drive business choices. Lastly, the course melds social responsibility and social networking systems which interface with new cyber tools. This situation is creating a business environment with novel challenges and imperatives and ethical quandaries that have not previously explored and examined.
Military Leadership Applications in the Corporate World Workshop: This workshop introduces service members and those with military education to various military applications that exist in the private/business/corporate worlds. Attendees will learn how their military training can be successfully integrated into the public & private sectors, into business corporate leadership positions, and for counter-terrorism/terrorism prevention informational assessment collection uses between government entities and the private sector.
Sexual Harassment Seminar: The seminar will provide a general overview of sexual harassment issues, ethical dilemmas, policies, conduct and standards specific to situations involving applicable employees. The course is outlined into distinct objectives. It will go into detail on educating the participants on the legal ramifications as well as provide them with more social insight to their respective work environment. This seminar will hit “hot button” issues that are affecting modern culture and the future work force.
Negotiation: A Review of Concepts, Applications and Opportunities: Designed for project management professionals as well as their Cross-Functional Team members such as Purchasing and Supply Management, Contracting, Engineering, and Quality professionals. Course participants from both public and private sector organizations will learn the significant benefits derived from effective negotiation skills. They will learn how to use negotiation when working with project teams (Cross-Functional Teams), especially characterized by generational and cross-cultural as well as inter-organizational cultural difference in addition to inter-disciplinary perspectives and objectives. They also will recognize why strong communication and interpersonal skills are an integral part of the project management professional’s skill set, and how excellent negotiation skills complement and enhance this skill set.
